Why I love Strength Sports
Last weekend, I tuned in to the 2024 Arnold Strongman and Strongwomen competition, a captivating event that reignited my passion for strength sports, weightlifting, and the pursuit of getting stronger. When we talk about strength sports, disciplines like Strongman/Strongwoman, Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting, and CrossFit come to mind. Each of these sports revolves around the core goal of lifting the maximum weight possible using different techniques, all in the name of pushing one's limits to attain greater strength.
These dedicated athletes pour their hearts and souls into their lifts, demonstrating unwavering dedication through their commitment, hard work, and sometimes, sacrifices, embodying the essence of perseverance. What's striking about these sports, is the incredible diversity in body types among participants. This diversity powerfully illustrates that strength is not confined to a singular physical appearance—it comes in all shapes and sizes, defying preconceived notions and stereotypes.
Strength isn't exclusively reserved for competitive athletes; it's a quality that anyone can cultivate. There's no set threshold of weight to lift or specific criteria to meet to qualify as strong. True strength lies in the resilience to keep trying, the will to persist without giving up, the commitment to incremental progress, and the courage to bounce back from setbacks. It's about embracing consistency, focusing on personal growth instead of comparisons, and lending support to others in their victories, even amidst personal challenges.
So, whether you're eager to return to the gym, reignite your passion for running, or simply engage in activities that make you feel empowered, don't allow imaginary boundaries or self-imposed limitations to hold you back. Seize the moment, enjoy the journey, and never forget that self-care is not selfish—it's essential. Remember, strength comes in various forms, and it's a beautiful reflection of your inner resilience and determination.

What I’m Loving this Week
I get asked a lot where I get my activewear and I have a few places but this week I’ve been loving my Gymshark outfits. They have just been coming out with some really great stuff.
Also, this week I’ve actually been listening to podcasts while lifting. There are somedays where I lose focus pretty easily and having a light podcast to listen to keeps my mind from wandering to all the other stuff on my plate. The podcast I’ve been into this week is the Know Your Power podcast.
